Job Function and Key Responsibilities
Our entire customer service staff is responsible for direct interaction with our customers, primarily by telephone, fax and e-mail. Specific duties include:
· Providing product specifications, availability and quotes
· “Writing” orders, incoming material receipts, order tracking and product defect or damage resolution
· Outgoing calls for follow up on customer issues, tracking quotes, introducing special offers or product changes and soliciting orders
A Product Champion manages specific product lines. Duties include:
· Establishing price points
· Maintaining and updating internal and external price pages
· Responding to competitive market conditions
· Meeting vendor representatives
· Communicating important information to co-workers in a formal and regular format
· Monitoring inventory levels and placing reorders
· Expanding and shrinking the line as needed
· Identifying and reacting to obsolete and slow moving inventory, damages or defective stock.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
· Minimum of 3 years sales experience within the building materials industry
· Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal abilities
· Solid computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; able to learn new software quickly.
